ours is essentially a tragic age

What IS this bullshit?  So, I’m all excited when I get home yesterday because earlier in the afternoon, Beth had placed a brand spankin’ new copy of Dawson’s Creek Season Three in my hot little hands.  I lovingly inserted the first disc and settled into my chair with a pint of Half Baked, ready to commence the teenage drama fest.  I press play on the first episode, enjoy the teaser and feel the warm little rush of anticipation in the one second fade-to-black-fade-up that always precedes the credits and the Paule Cole theme song.  The Paula Cole theme song that fails to materialize and  has instead been replaced, REPLACED, I say, by some other, crappy song that I have never heard before in my life.  What the FUCK?  You don’t just change a theme song for the dvd release…do you?  Why would they do that, why why why?  That song IS Dawson’s Creek:  insipid and saccharine, but somehow irresistable.  Fuckers.

And, yes, it’s a silly thing about which to be hella pissed, but whatever.

Whoa! Did they change it for the earlier seasons? I can't IMAGINE Paula Cole saying "Well, you DID practically MAKE my career...but no. You can't use my song for season three. Cos I have bigger things going on. And also, I'm a Canadian bitch and I said so."

no, Seasons One and Two have the Paula Cole song. from what i've read, it sounds like it was just too expensive to keep the song--which probably means that the first two seasons didn't sell that well.

You see now this would have a perfect time for a "BLACK RAAAGE" post title. Just this jerks humble opinion.

As we have already discussed at length, I am hella pissed too! It's so very wrong. And they didn't just replace it with some other insipid song, they replaced it with a song that literally makes my ears bleed. Well, not literally, but you get my drift. So pissed.
