i hate you and i hate your ass face!

Lovely Heather who looks like Jason’s mother was kind enough to lend me her copy of the Series Finale of Dawson’s Creek.  I watched it the other day and cried like somebody, you know, real, died and not just Jen Lindley, and I’m talking real, soul-wracking sobs here, red eyes and a face full of tears.  It was pretty ugly.  Last night, before I went to bed, I watched Buffy 5ABB10, “Into the Woods,” when Buffy gets a patented Xander Harris wake-up, ya dumbass speech just too late to catch Riley before he disappears off in a helicopter do go do some Initiative dirty work, and I cried again, giving myself a runny nose and an aching chest in the process.    This morning, I listened to Halos and Horns on the way to work and almost started crying by the convention center.  When I walked into the office, past Linda’s desk with the bowl of M&M’ and quickly devoured a giant handful, realization dawned.  Oh, right.  PMS, my old friend.  I know thee well.

Speaking of candy: I think we all know how I feel about the candy.  It is good.  It is life. Candy, like love, makes the world go round.  I mean, really? Who can take the sunshine and sprinkle it with dew?  Not the potato chip man or the string cheese man, no, the candyman can.  Anyway, I find it very difficult to go an entire day without candy of some sort, in fact, I’d wager I haven’t gone a day without candy ever, unless I was sick or something.  Luckily for me, there are 5 or 6 people on my floor who never fail to have a  bowl full of something chocolately or sugary on their desk at all times.  Sadly, they are all really annoying people to whom no one would speak if there was no candy on their desk.  Now here comes the part where I do something immature and silly.  Half the time, I really want the candy, but I am not willing to engage in meaningless conversation to get it, so, I wait until they are at lunch or in a meeting or something and sneak by and grab some.  Is that so wrong?  I mean, really, is it fair to hold perfectly good candy hostage?

NO, it is totally fascist to hold candy hostage in exchange for conversation. don't deal with terrorists!

I made a pact with my supervisor today that if I keep a stash of candy he will have to keep a stash of gum or mints. I think I am on the losing end of this bargain.

Have you read Candyfreak by Steve Almond? Good stuff there. He purports that he also has not gone a day without candy. You should totally have the candy on hand when you're reading it, though, because otherwise it is like watching Willy Wonka without candy on hand: torture.

Um...I cried at that episode AND the one where Buffy has to kill Angel AND the one where Xander leaves Anya at alter AND the one where Willow finds Oz with Veruca...you get my point...all w/o PMS. And I'm a person who HATES Meg Ryan movies. So I'd say that Joss is just that much of a genius.
But the Dawson's Creek finale...THAT'S PMS :P

I cry at that freaking finale EVERY TIME - menstrual cycle notwithstanding. It's ridiculous. Damn video scene.

Hey! I resent that! I also exclaim with joy at a good beheading or impalement.
